FAQ's

How can I submit to Folio?

To submit  your work to Folio, check out our “Submit Work” tab for detail.

What kind of art can I submit?

We accept any form of visual art: drawings, paintings, photographs, graphic design, photos of sculptures, etc. As long as you can submit a JPEG, PNG, TIFF etc. of your piece, it is welcome. However, we don’t take any poetry or writing, since our magazine is focused on the visual arts.

Can I submit to Folio if I don't go to McGill?

Unfortunately, the magazine is limited to submissions from McGill students only.

Where can I get a physical copy of the magazine?

To get a free copy, we host a launch party every semester (details on our Facebook page). Everyone is welcome to join, and entrance is PWYC. Magazines are available for every attendee, but if you can’t make the launch, simply email us at  foliomag@gmail.com and we will try our best to meet up with you.

Where can I find past issues of Folio?

Many of our previous issues are available digitally  under the “Archive” tab and past submissions are often featured on our Instagram.

How can I join the Folio team?

If you want to join our team, send us an email at foliomag@gmail.com or message our Facebook page. We recruit new coordinators at the beginning of every school year, but general members are always welcome to attend our meetings, and volunteer for tabling/curation/launch party.

Do I need to be an artist to be able to join the team?

No! You do not need to be an artist to join the team, we welcome everyone who wants to join! The team is more involved in choosing submissions, putting together the magazine, promoting the club, and organizing the launch. So there’s always something you can do even if you’re not a skilled artist.

Can members of Folio submit to the magazine?

Yes! Members of the team can also submit. The curation process for our magazine is completely anonymous. You are still eligible to join our team, and help with curation even if you have submitted as an artist
